Welcome Back To School

Hello New Third Graders and Parents,

I am very excited about our new school year. I look forward to meeting you soon.
Sneak-A-Peek (Thursday, July 28th from 3:00-5:00) will be a great opportunity for you to visit our classroom before school begins on Aug 1st. I hope you can make it!

You may already know who I am. I saw many of you in the hallways and on the playground last year, but I did not learn everyone's name, so I'll be surprised when you walk in our classroom door.

Enjoy the rest of our summer break and come back ready to begin your adventurous journey through 3rd grade.

                                                           Sincerely,
                                                             Mrs. Meyers

Our Team/Class is called the Megastars because we strive to be at our own personal best each and everyday. We "shine" with enthusiasm, "sparkle" with effort, and "glow" with pride from successes.

Sneak-A-Peek was a success! I enjoyed meeting most of my "Megastars" and their parents.
"I'll see you Monday morning!"

OPEN HOUSE
It was great seeing many of my student's parents and families Thursday night. If you were not able to make it, your child brought home two hand-outs on Friday that were given out. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to sit down before conference week to discuss your child. I will be sharing reading levels with you soon.
Good morning Lewis Parents and Staff,

The Warrior Nation is currently in competition to collect non-perishable food for the Daily Bread Food Pantry, and we would like to partner with our feeder schools to support such a great cause. To keep things FUN we will provide chicken biscuits to the middle and elementary classrooms whose students bring in the most cans. We’ll pick up your donations Friday, September 9th to deliver directly to the food pantry. We will also provide breakfast for the staff of the school that collects the most cans.

Lewis received the follow offer. I will post a flyer, but will not copy one for each student.
                                              GEORGIA TECH DAYS!!
I wanted to reconnect with you regarding School Days at Georgia Tech this football season!

Regarding the complementary tickets for your elementary school students, I have provided the flyer you can distribute throughout your school.

Tickets can be claimed for either the Vanderbilt game on Saturday, September 17th or the Duke game on Saturday, October 29th by visiting togetherweswarm.com/SchoolDays. Student tickets are free with the purchase of an accompanying adult ticket.

TESTING...
We will be testing Tues. 9/13-Wed. 9/21. Please ensure that your child goes to bed on time, eats a good breakfast (at home or school), and is in a good frame of mind. I will stress that this testing is to "show what you know" to help me make teaching decisions and is not for a grade. Otherwise, "Do your best and don't sweat the rest".

I will be sending home conference week letters soon. Please let me know if you have a particular day off work each week and I'll plan around it. I will plan with other teachers to put sibling conferences back-to-back.
